AMD has made significant strides in the server market, taking a 5.6% market share from Intel in Q2, according to Mercury Research. Although Intel still holds a significant share of unit shipments, AMD’s EPYC CPUs have narrowed the revenue gap with higher average selling prices. EPYC’s 96-core and 128-core offerings are unmatched by Intel in the high-end segment. AMD’s overall server market revenue share reached 33.7% in Q2, growing sequentially and year-over-year. While AMD’s desktop share declined slightly, it gained in the notebook market.
